Shaklee now has HE compatible detergent. Anyone ever use the Shakless products? If so how do you like them?

I have not used any myself but I did read on Fix-It-Now-Samauri Appliance Repair that they highly recommend it. It is supposed to be great for front/load machines.

Go to that site and search high efficiency detergents and you can read what they say about the Shaklee Products.

Thanks sparky823, I looked up the site but I couldn't find any info on the products.

Go back there and type in Shaklee Detergents then hit search It will bring up "where to buy large containers of H E detergent" then click on that and it will take you to the whole write up from several different people. Let me know if this worked for you this time.

I regularly use Shaklee. I prefer the powder, the new HE liquid is new enough I haven't tried it, yet( the regular liquid is pretty sudsy). The powder is very low sudsing and works quite well, especially when paired with Nature Bright, their bleach/enzyme powder. This is what I normally use to wash my massage linens, oil stains mostly gone(just a faint shadow, noticable in flourescent light only), with no pretreating and, of course, a long, hot wash cycle in my Bosch 6400. The fabric softener is my favourite one to use. It's light and not greasy, you can use it on towels with very little reduction is absorbency. I recommend them. HTH, Todd

I have several customers that use front loading machines and love the Shaklee HE compatible liquid laundry wash. They even love it more now that it comes in that wonderful scent you can only get with Shaklee products!

    sparky823,

I got my first Shaklee order the other day and I must say the new Shanklee HE is really amazing. My friend asked me if I would try the Shaklee laundry products on a set in stain she had trouble removing so I tired the Shaklee HE liquid detergent and soaked the stained sheet in Shaklee's Nature Bright Laundry Booster & Stain Remover for 30 minutes and the stain came out.

Does Shaklee products have a perfume scent in their laundry soap and cleaning products? Has anyone compared it to Charlie soap? Thanks Ree

I like Shaklee much better than Charlie's. The powder and liquid laundry detergents are available either lightly scented or unscented and are low sudsing. The oxi product is unscented and the fabric softener is lightly scented. The cleaning products are unscented. Except the dish soap, which is lightly, citrus scented.

Thanks aamassther.. I would like to try Shaklee also, do you order it right from their web site, or buy it else where? Thanks again!

    Ree,

I joined for a small fee of $19.95 in order to receive the discount and purchased the Get Clean kit which comes with all the products.

I'm really impressed by the products and it's nice that I can clean the bathroom without coughing.

If you need a good germicide try Basic G. 1 quart makes 64 gallons. Another 2 thumbs up cleaning product from Shaklee...

    Ree,

Have you tired anymore products or join Shaklee yet?

    Hi applemac!
I love the basic H2..and the nature bright (actually, the nature bright is amazing) I like the laundry detergent as well..but I think it is too expensive to use continuously..I used the NB with Charlies soap..and it was perfect..(have you used Charlies?) I didn't join yet.. still thinking about it.. did you sign as a member or become a distributor? How are you doing with your products? Happy?
anything you would recommend or not recommend? Thanks!
    Ree

    Ree,

Yes, I have tried Charlie detergent but It wasn't getting my laundry that clean. But I thought it was good but not great on some stains.

I just signed up as a member for the discount. I didn't want any independent distributor bothering me so I just signed up at some persons website that was kind enough to answer some of my questions about the products.

Yes I thought the Liquid Detergent was pricey so next time I'll order their powdered formula. I purity much like all the products that came in the get clean kit. 1 to 5 with 5 rating the best.

Basic H2Â Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate, 16 oz. (5)
Basic H2Â Organic Super Cleaning Wipes, 35 Wipes (3) I don't care for wipes.
Nature Bright® Laundry Booster and Stain Remover, 32 oz. (5)
Scour Off Heavy-Duty Paste, 9 oz. (3) Used it only once and I don't get this product.
Hand Wash Concentrate, 32 oz. (5)
Dish Wash Concentrate, 16 oz. (5)
Dish Wash Automatic Concentrate, 32 oz. (5)
Fresh Laundry Concentrate, 32 oz. (Liquid) (5)
Soft Fabric Concentrate, 32 oz. (3) Not a fabric softener fan.
Soft Fabric Dryer Sheets, 80 sheets (2)
    Dish Wash Automatic Concentrate (5)
Germ Off Disinfecting Wipes, 35 Wipes (5) Even though I hate wipes this is one very good product. I only wish it came in a spray bottle instead of these wipes.

wow..thanks for all the info and the time you took to write it all. I like Charlies..if you need a deeper clean for diriter clothes, just add the nature bright..borax and super washing soda work just as good and much more cost effective. The Shaklee detergent isn't great on stains alone either..I found Basic H2 full strength works great on stains..imagine that? The disinfectant wipes you can make your own in a spray..it's called Basic G..and you make your own spray like the Basic H2. I tried the paste..I thought it worked good on my sinks, but then again..I didn't try to get out tough stains..I never leave my sink filled with dishes..they go right in the dish washer and I always clean my sink after I am finished using it.. before I got it, I did a self clean on my oven, so there is nothing burnt on to try it on in there either...

I never use fabric softener/ dryer sheets..I find with natural detergent you really do not need one..at times, I use an 1/8th of a cup of white vinegar as a FS and it works great. (give it a try)

I don't know if I will sign up as a member..I usually do not stick to just one product line, I use what I really like..I basically am a steamer..I steam almost everything.. (and I love it) I started buying different natural products to try them out, as I do get bored using the same cleaning method year after year.. it's good to have some thing to grab and use..as much as I love my steamer and use it all the time..some times I don't want to plug it in, fill it up and go room to room..so it's nice to have other natural products on hand.
Thanks applemac..let me know if you get the powder LD from shaklee and what you think!

Does anyone know if this shaklee laundry detergent contains brighteners?

    Ree,

I don't think the Basic G which I have and also rate a 5 is the same as the Germ Off. One product says Warning on the label while the other has the Caution label. I don't care to have products with a Warning on the bottle.

    saramommy,

I don't think so but they have Nature Bright that has a brighteners in it.

    saramommy,
The laundry detergents and nature bright do contain brighteners.

    applemac,
The At Ease scouring paste is an interesting product. The best way to use it is to put a little at a time on a sponge or cloth that is quite wet and use it that way. It does take some getting used to. I clean my stainless sink with it that way and then clean the my formica counters after the sink, when its not so abrasive. You really only need a small amount for most jobs.
I prefer the powder detergent to the liquids. I either use the Liquid-L or the Basic-H to spot. Depends on the fabric and colour. Basic-H is milder and doesn't have any brighteners.

wow..a warning label on an all natural product? I didn't buy the basic G, but the rep told me about it and told me it was a great sanitizer.. is this the one with the warning label? Ree

    Ree,

I had no idea about the Warning Label until yesterday and I check the two products out side by side. It looks like all the SHAKLEE® HOUSEHOLD products in the green label are being discontinued in favor of the new GET CLEAN line of products which are all natural.

they do offer your money back.. if you are not going to use it, send it back.. no sense in keeping a product you will not use..give them a call...thanks for letting me know
    Ree

    Ree,

I really like the product even though it has the warning label.

O..I must have misunderstood.. as long as you like it, thats all that matters! Ree

    Hi Shaklee fans!

I use and recommend Basic G and it's really important to note that Basic G is ultra-concentrated and that's why it's harmful when it's in it's concentrated form.

Germ Off wipes are made with Basic G. They are completely harmless in their packaging because it's ready to use so it's in it's dilluted strength.

When dilluted as directed it's completely harmless. I allow my 8yro son with asthma symptoms to use the wipes or the spray bottle I have.

I also have several childcare org's using basic g. I have researched the ingredients, msds, first aid info, etc. for the state requirements they must meet. I am completely satisfied that it's safe.

I use it to clean my bathrooms, carpets and more. It's got a nice, light fragrance too.

Also, something important to mention too is that fragrances in Shaklee products are not carried in the air by pthalates. Pthalates are the chemicals (undergoing studies for carcinogen effects) used to carry fragrances in the air and help them "linger". Like from air fresheners, laundry, perfume, etc. These are usually the culprits for asthmatic symptoms and allergic reactions to scented products.

As far as the Nature Bright goes, (one of my fav's!) It's brightening agent is oxygen. There are no chlorine, phosphates, or borates in it.

As always, you can call Shaklee and ask about any products and their ingredients. That's how I know most of this, I also investigated on my own at the NLH and EPA websites.

Ok, so you can probably tell I use these products! I chose to use healthier alternatives to everything, not just cleaners, in my home after my Mother, Father, Step Father and Grandmother had died of cancers and alzheimers. So, I have a very passionate reason to do as much as I can to have a healthy home and planet.

Any more product testimonials???? Please share!!

    Hi JoAnn,

Do you use the Basic G in your kitchen like wiping down your counter tops? Not sure if the Basic H is good enough.

Yes, I do! What I like best about Basic G is that you don't have to rinse. I like to "buff" a nice shine to my counter afterwards anyway. Also, I don't think that we have as many of those microbacterials in our homes as the lysol company would like us to think we do eh? I'm still careful with raw meats, but I don't do crazy. Well, I already am a bit!

Update on the Scour Off Heavy-Duty Paste, 9 oz. (3) rating. I'm changing the rating to a 5. I now know how to use it properly, it removed a tuff buildup on a grill pan that I thought I had to throw out one day.

6 Months later and I'm still hooked on the Shaklee line of cleaning problems. If you want to go Green try Shaklee.

So i'm a recent charlie's soap buyer. am i able to mix in the nature bright? some of the other shaklee products seemed a little high priced and since i still have a full bag of charlie's i want to finish that first.
    thanks!

    sheesharee
I always mix Charlies and Nature Bright, works wonderful!
I have tried shaklee's detergent, honestly I like the Charlies much better. I love Nature Bright..it is a great product.. you will love the results when used with Charlies!
    Ree

ree - i just scrolled up and read that you did already post you use it with your charlie's..opps. :)
how long does a bag last you? They seem so tiny! do you use it with every load? just in your whites? Will it restore a white shirt back to it's brightness?
    Thanks!

6 months ago I bought the Get Clean Kit and I'm still using the products and only had to reorder the liquid dish soap and laundry detergent twice and everything else I haven't had to reorder... So the products are very concentrated and the way things are looking I should have another 6 more month before I had to order anything else.

    sheesharee
The bag is not really that big, but it did last a few months. I use it on whites mainly, but also in colored clothes, and towels, but not every load. When I feel the clothes need it, that's when I add it in.
It may restore your white shirt.. if the white has become "yellowed" I would take a scoop and give it a soak with hot water in a bucket for an hour or so..then put it through the wash with other whites adding a scoop to that wash as well... all I can say is, it removed every stain I ever had, with kids I really need it (smile) it has taken out juice from a stawberry on my daughters white shirt..no matter what kind of stain I was fighting, I got it out.

Back when, I tried Shaklee detergent, I bought the nature bright along with it..at first I was thinking shaklee was better than the Charlies due to getting a chocolate stain out..then I realized, it wasn't the shaklee detergent, but the nature bright.. I honestly do like Charlies better..not saying Shaklee is a bad product, I guess it's what works for us..some really love Shaklee and favor it over Charlies .. the main thing is,more people are avoiding harsh chemicals in their laundry and homes. Personally, I will never go back to store bought, I love how clean my house and laundry is with natural products...
    Ree

thanks for the info guys. I think i will be buying a bag of the nature bright. Since i've been using the charlie's ...after about two weeks i noticed i was getting a rash here and there on my skin. After talking with Charlie's soap people and experimenting i don't think it's the detergent. At any rate, i really hope my skin's alright with the nature bright. I'm not allergic to anything that i know of and before charlie's i was using stuff like tide and downy!

I checked out this site http://EnvironmentallyYours.myshaklee.com and you can join for free with a $30.00 order until May 20, 2011. I joined last month, got my order and promptly starting testing everything. I found that with the basic H2 you only use 1 drop for winddow cleaning. The laundry soap is excellent for HE's and comes in non-scent and lightly scented. And I agree the Nature Bright is terrific for stains.
