Returned Miele machines

T9800 dryer- extreme dryer noise, sounds like metal on metal.Serviceman took the machine apart while talking to Miele tech. Found nothing wrong. New hard duct, three ninetys and a ten foot straight run. Duct wrapped in foil & insulating pipe wrap. New owner found on this thread that Miele makes a retrofit lint filter with holes in the top. Ordered same and it reduces noise by about 10%. Still unacceptable. The noise problem is caused by the clothes falling and blocking the intake holes to the lint filter. This causes an air pressure difference making the noise. The dryer will not dry clothes on the normal setting. (never) Dryer will not dry waist bands and thick bath towels on extra dry. You must wait till the machine stops and then use the 45 min setting.

Washer W4840 Male portion of the door lock hangs low. This can be seen on store display units. After two weeks of use, it sags lower and becomes a problem.Serviceman installed a new Miele retrofit door lock. New male and female parts. The door will not close tightly now and water leaks on the floor. After one week of use the door gasket began puckering at the three and nine o'clock positions. The new door gasket has been back ordered for a month now. This is a basement machine. Vibration of the machine on spin and on a pedestal is unacceptable on a main floor application. My laundry room is ten foot by ten foot off the kitchen. Three of the walls have a poured concrete wall under them. Support is ten foot metal reinforced 2" x 4" trusses on 16" centers, then osb board, then cement board, then ceramic tile. Machine perfectly level with lock nuts tight. Washer vibrates to the point of possible floor and drywall damage.
