Bathroom Storage

Ok, it's not technically home decor, but I can't seem to keep my bathrooms free of clutter and my assortment of shampoo bottles all over the edges of the tub certainly detracts from any kind of decorative efforts I make in there.

Would you mind sharing your storage solutions?

The bathroom that we actually use to bathe in has a corner shelf in the shower area that holds all of our bottles, scrubbers, etc. What I did was buy a pretty shower curtain (it's a tub/shower combo) and keep it closed.

I also have a white iron stand, about 5 feet tall with 5 shelves next to the tub which holds all of our towels, that way we can just grab one when we get out, and it also looks nice.

At one time I had a large, old fruit picking basket holding rolled towels next to the tub.

Bathrooms are hard to decorate because of our junk, aren't they? lol

I had a custom niche built in the master - that holds a lot!
also took an old chest of drawers - painted it, put on glass knobs & carrara on the top - that solved a lot as well.
Bath is relatively small and has a pedestal sink so storage needs to be creative

I have a LARGE counter with two sinks and a BIG mirror over it. I'm toying with the idea of having a custom built cabinet put on top of the vanity, between the two sinks. It would be like a super large medecine cabinet and hold all my perfumes. It would de-clutter the counter. Like this one! :0)

Grovia, do you/your family use all these items often enough to warrant they are super accessible?
If not, then what about using an over the door clear pocket shoe storage unit? In our last home the four of us, two being teens at the time, had one hung over the inside of the bathrooms linen closet each having a row of pockets to keep our health and beauty aide items stored. It worked wonderfully and you always knew where to find what you needed. We actually had the bottom pocket in each row unused so I added baby powder, baby oil, hand lotion and an extra liquid soap dispenser.

I found a realy nice shower caddy at Target in a antique gold/light broze color that holds all my stuss I use inside the shower. So far so good on the not rusting - I bought it sometime back in the early summer.

I am getting ready to buy the cabinet in the link below to replace the crappy old white melamine thing I have. I just need to verify if the website is legit or not as that's the best price I have found.

My vanity top is big and stays messy. It's the size of a double vanity but it just has one sink on the right side. I've been using a smal wire and wicker basket to hold every morning stuff (deodorant, foundation, ahir gunk, etc. However, I saw a really pretty hammered metal (copper or bronzey color) at Target the other day I am thinking about spluring on (it was around $30-35) once I pick out my new vanity top. I currently have a white laminate and am hoping to be able to swing granite if I can find a remnant. I priced the special order tops at Lowes last week, and we're talking $600 minimum. Can't afford that!!!I was hoping $300 or less including the sink for not too exotic stuff like New Venitian Gold, Baltic Brown, something like that.

That's a nice cabinet, especially with free shipping.

That site is legiitimate so don't worry.
It's one of CSN's myriad of websites - they have everything and a lot of it.
In fact, there's a link at the top left of that page to view their other sites.
I've never purchased from them so I can't vouch for their service.

This is from their 'about us' page, quite a success story if you check it out:
Based in Boston, CSN Stores LLC began in 2002 and has grown rapidly into a Top 3 online U.S. retailer of home and office goods with 400+ employees. See our Facts at a Glance and Industry Associations.

Thanks, joanieb. The CSN sounded familiar, but I just wanted to check a little before I gave them my CC number. Bellacor has that same cabinet, and I know they're OK, but it's I think $130 plus shipping.

When I get disgusted with bathroom clutter, my first step is to declutter. One bottle of shampoo in the tub at a time, one bar of soap. If those products don't work for someone in the family, they can carry in their preferred products in a basket - and take them out when they leave.

Woo hoo! The cabinet I was going to order showed up on Overstock.com today (different model name but the picture's the same). $90.99, free shipping, guarateed arrival by 2/13, and I earn 910 MyPoints! That's 22.92 less than the other site.
