Help with Accessories

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to figure out what accessories would look nice with this table.... and I'm stuck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It seems like I get stuck on this type of decorating because I'm unsure about the placement (or how to balance) the accessories.

Also, does the lamp and wall decor work? Does anyone have any other ideas?

Any help you all can give me would be great!!!!

Thanks,

Amy

Here's a picture of some accessories I had around the house. I don't have to use anything you see.... I just thought something may jump out.

Can you post a larger photo Amy? It's hard to see what's there. Love the table and scrolly. They're gorgeous!
If you can get a straight on photo of the table without anything on it and the items spread out I could try and do a virtual for you.

So nice the way the iron work on the table and the wall piece complement each other!

I don't think your lamp works. I would try to find a lamp that has a rounded, more squat base to work with the curves of the iron work. Something that has earthy colors.

I think you need objects that have very simple lines that have some weight to them, as you have the light scrolly iron on the wall and on the table. I would put three items only, two taller on the ends an one lower in the middle. You have alot going on with the scroll, so I would keep it simple. One thing I know I wouldnt put there is a lamp, just me, but one of my pet peeves is seeing the electrical cord hanging.

I think the problem is the grille above--yes it compliments, but it's not weighty enough IMO to balance out the console...when you add accessories it all becomes too busy or chaotic.

I would try to find a single large picture to use instead or a pair of pictures stacked to one side with the lamp on the other side.

I am seriously coveting that table. I adore it. I would remove the iron grille above it, like Jim above suggests, and let the table be the star. Get a great picture to replace it, maybe an orchid, a framed initial like many here use, and that fabulous metal (?) box you show in your photo.

I would like to see a colorful picture, a good sized one, above that lovely table. You have a monochromatic brown/beige theme going on, and something with a shot of red would show up well.

What's the table for? Do you drop keys and mail there? Do you need the table lamp for a practical reason? I like the scrollwork piece, but it might be a bit much with the table.

Of course, I'd also swap that bright white outlet underneath for a wall-colored one , but that's my pet peeve.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I'm going to see what I can come up with and I'll post more pics....

    Thanks Again,

A vote for the twisty-based lamp on the right-hand side.

THEN place the silver vase on the left-hand side -- and sit the two silver/scrolly candles in front of it. Add white chunky short candles OR -- if you can find them -- two white ball-shaped candles.

For a more summer look -- THEN switch to the scrolly-basket on the left-hand side. Fill with green or golden delicious apples. Or green or dark grapes.

I'll echo those who say that the option is to change out the scroll work art. You also could change out the table for a more weighty, chunky table. This is a case where the pieces are too similar and you need a little contrast between the two pieces.
