Have a solid surface fabricator make a Glacier White solid surface pedestal with a high gloss finish.

It's an export from Middle Earth. (OK, it's a child's pedestal sink; there are loads of them from different manufacturers.)

My thoughts as well, you find fixtures like that in places like nursery and elementary schools. I'm wondering why you hooked it up when you noticed how small it was. Like said, put it on a pedestal or get a different sink.

But it's original to someone's only bathroom, it wouldn't make sense for it to be a child's size in that instance right ??

Well, glad you didn't install it and then question its suitability. You know, I see a picture and pictures can be swung any angle and it really doesn't give us an idea of how tall it actually is, because of the perspectives. Did you measure it?

I also don't know anything about your friend or your relationship with them. Have you see this sink in their house? and whether they had it mounted on a pedestal? Asked them if they didn't notice something 'funny' about it? Perhaps they bought an old house and it came with the house and this is the reason they're replacing it, because they have to get on their knees to use it? Maybe the previous owners were little people or something.

I just had to replace such a cute sink that came with a 1905 house because it was too short. I concluded that Americans have just gotten taller in the last century.

Had I had time, I would have tried to find a taller pedestal, because the sink itself was quite fetching and period-appropriate for the house. Perhaps an architectural salvage dealer or a plumber who works on old houses would have an idea about switching out the pedestal.

I have two of those "short" pedestal sinks in my house back in Ohio. The house was built in 1925-30 and the sinks are original. That was standard height for sinks from that era. Its just the way it was. I love the suggestion Joseph Corlett gave!

HI- Old sinks and vanities until like 2000?? were NOT as tall as they are now. These days 34/36 and old days like 28/30.
