Repainting over different red

I painted my kitchen walls last year SW Fired Brick and really dont like the "rusty" hue I see when the lights are on or if its very bright out. I am going to repaint a more cherry red, like perhaps BM Confederate Red . I was hoping I wont have to prime first. Am I just wishfully thinking, here?? If I do need to prime, should I use a grey primer like I did before I put on the original red color? Also, possibly a dumb question, but I am also going to paint over the dark stained trim. Does it matter in which order- walls first or trim first?

Thanks for your advice.

PS- I used your advice from this forum to paint my oak cabinets white and they came out fantastic! I get comments on them all the time and people have said they look professionally done, Thanks for the advice, guys! :)
