I put this in my last kitchen and was very happy with it. No problems, worked well for me for the past 5 years or so. The simmer burner and 24" width were requirements for me... can't remember anymore if there were other models I considered that met that or what other reasons might have been for this selection.

If you have the budget a Bertazzoni could be a good choice, lots of people love their 30" Bertazzonis.

I had Asko stack washer dryer in my last place. They worked very well although I had a condensing dryer (non-vented) which took a long time and required periodic homeowner maintenance (cleaning the condenser unit). But they were high quality and the washer got the clothes very clean.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have more of a budget than in the past - but some part of me balks at paying so much more for less. And I'm somewhat afraid of setting myself up for appliances that will be expensive to replace down the line. However I believe being able to get past appliances into the bathroom will be important.

If depth is the bigger issue you could do a cooktop and an undercounter mounted oven. This combination works out slightly shallower than most ranges. If possible I would use a 30" range. I used a 30" range but shrunk the DW to 18" and that worked out well.
