Thank you suzienj for your reply. I think my question is 2 fold - where do I find a similar runner? and what size runner do I get, as most only come in 8 foot or 10 at the most. And it seems that all custom cut runners are very traditional and I am not looking for that style.

you could make any shaped or length runner with FLOR. take a look at their stripes. FLOR is not permanently installed on the floor and doesn't damage wood floors. We have it in our LR and I am pondering it for my MB. It's durable and easily washable.

These are probably too contemporary for what you are looking for, but check them out. the 12 ft size has some different patterns from the 14 ft.

I like the GH rug also. I wonder if a larger rectangular rug would look better than the 3' round one - maybe a 4'x6'? A smaller rug woulld just look ... too small. You could lay down newspaper to get a feel for how it would look.
