can painters fix this?

The corner beads on a few walls with a greater than 90 degree corner angle are cracked where the bead is popping up on the edges. The paint has been repaired/patched by previous owners unsuccessfully. The cracks are hairline and extend only along the edge of the corner bead (I think but am not sure that corner bead is plastic). As the beading is popped it is pushing the old drywall mud forward. We'd like to get the room professionally painted. I don't want to rip out and replace corner beads. Can this be repaired by the painter (screw it in and cover the screws with some mud, and then paint)? Or am I asking too much?
