Hi, think painting them white would be a good idea. Are you planning to paint the island and stove cabinets white as well? As for extending the cabinets up, I think it would actually make the kitchen appear smaller and really add no value. As for the backsplash, have you seen the tempered glass that many designers are using? You could have plane sort of bottle green or they also have them with designs of coloured glass. Really nice and very easy to keep clean. I don't know about flooring so will not comment on that. Good luck to you.

I would not paint white. How about a cream colour?
White subway tile is for a more modern style of kitchen. Yours is more traditional. I am not sure i would mix slate with granite. Glass mosaic tile with granite pieces would brighten up the counter. I would definitely add xenon or led undercabinetl lighting.
You could have more cabinets installed on top and replace your upper doors for taller ones. Or you could just put a flat friese and a crown moulding to the ceiling.

HI -- I think the cabinets should be painted an antique white -- a clear white would not be right, - an antique white is softer for this style of cabinet . BEHR paint color "Antique White" Your island base could be another color for some interest. If the open space above is a problem for you then have that top area filled in like you want - it will make the room look a little taller . I like the backsplash you have now so wait with that change -- once the cabinets are painted the backsplash may look better for you. Subway tiles are not the right style for these cabinets .A small marble tile would be better. Get someone in to see about changing the floor ,just keep in mind labor is very costly.Removing the old is very involved and $$$$. Anyway , start with the cabinets first , then see if you want or need to do the rest. I think it will be a nice fixup.

I have the same back splash. I like the blue on the wall...it makes it pop!

Hi! I think the cabs look great and spa;sh too myself. What i don't like is the blue with all that earthiness. If you changed that out and lived wit it for a bit I think you might find you are happy with that change and it's the least expensive. you can go warm gray, beiges ( not too yellow) or a sagey or olivey green if you want more color and depending what the other rooms have. Best of luck! i would NOT paint them white. this wood is great!

However, if you really want blue, I would choose a much more slate blue, lots more gray in it!

Sorry I don't have advice but I just wanted to say how beautiful I think your kitchen is. I love your counters and backsplash. I am redesigning my kitchen now and wondering what kind of counters and backsplash to use and I think yours is just the look I want.

I think your kitchen is fab just the way it is. Paint the walls a different color if you are needing a change, but the cabinets are great as is. Spend your money on something else...
