I have got to call my mother-in-law and talk about money tomorrow. No excuses. If I don't do this, it will take us an extra year to get started. She offered, I just need to nail it down, or see where we stand. Either way is a step forward.

Me! I need to get my cab/drawer layout and sizing done. I'll give myself until Monday night at midnight. I need to re-do my storage inventory first. Thats what I've been putting off. I'll post my drawing on Tuesday.

This whole process has bee dragging out waaaaaaaaaaay too long since we let the contractor go and decided to move some rooms around. Framing starts mid-week!!! I can't believe it!

Okay. Gotta set up the appointment to set the bookcase part of project into motion. First full week in March, I hope to have a meeting with cabinet guy.

No problem here! I will have lazy susans in ASAP! Will order them tomorrow, just need to sleep on it to be sure I have chosen the right one.

My procrastinator list is more like clean the toilet, start the new quilt, tile the bird cubby (tile is laid out on the floor but will need a tile cut on every row.)

Well, I'm farther behind than all of you with just a few details to finish up, so I'll have to begin with getting few details started.

My two big hold-ups are:

1) Getting the stuff cleared off my now, non-functional, range so my DH can repair it. Since if it can't be fixed (fat chance), I'd have to replace it, which would change my proposed layout a bit;

2) And emptying out the room where I'm moving the kitchen to (it's presently being used as a store room);

So: Deadline for finishing task #1 is March 15th and for task #2, March 30th. Of. This. Year.

Deadline for 1 and 2 is Sun. 3/6

Deadline for 4 and 5 is April 1st

2, 6 and 7 will have to wait until I can go shopping and make some decisions.

Pantry and hutch cabinets are scheduled for installation tomorrow....then all of the cabinetry is FINALLY done and I can move on to the rest of the list:
knobs, pendants, window treatments, etc.

I will post pics and look forward to your suggestions on how to make it all "come together"!

Okay! I'm in! We will finish rebuilding the kitchen island in one week! I will have the island completely finished ONE HUNDRED PERCENT with cooktops installed by March Sixth!!!

Boxerpups, maybe theres some little item you still need to research or pick up? Or maybe it's just something like picking up new dishtowels... We can surely think of SOMETHING for you to do! My DH says I'm great at that.

We finally got our backsplash in (we've had it since December!) We still need to finish grouting at the top and seal the grout. I have decided how I want my open shelves, DH still has to buy the wood to even start. We got all the tools in December. I haven't done the paint touchups b/c I want to paint the shelves and finish touch up when it's up.

1. finish grouting, seal grout
2. build shelves
3. touch up moldings and wall paint
4. refinish buffet table (this I am sure will take time just to decide what direction I want to go, paint or restain)

We got our kitchen functional back in November.. ugh

Funny how once we finally got water running out of the kitchen sink, the rest of the project came to a screeeeeetching halt! OK,I'm in; here's the goal: By 3/15, we will have a complete list of 'left-to-do's' for the electrician, plumber and tiler. Floor tile in bath laid by 4/10; wall tile in bath hung by 5/1. Let's hope the roof holds out 'til then! Pray for good weather! Come on spring! I want to have the vanity stone templated by the time school's out!

Since this is the busiest time of year for the Hubster at work, I cannot have as ambitious of a deadline as I would like. So, I am going to say that by the time school is out (first week in June), I would like to have the toekick finished, the baseboards done, and the decorative finishes, well, finished. Oh--and the caulking done on the backsplash.

The most immediate thing I can do is not kitchen-related, but I have been putting it off, due to weather: purchase new mirrored cabinet to replace the one that has doors prit' near (as Grandpa would say) falling off it. I give myself to the end of the week to brave the cold and take a trip to Menard's. I can do this. ;^)

I cannot make any promises about the stairwell, as that is one scary mess. Heh.

(And for a bonus deadline: I will have my taxes finished by mid-March--say St. Patrick's Day. *Whew* Really sweating now....)

My kitchen stuff that still needs to be done might get pushed to the back burner for a while yet. We just ripped out most of the middle of our house (the old kitchen, livingroom and family room walls) to start framing in the master bedroom and bath, office, and livingroom.

I need to find a masterbath vanity asap, so I can decide where the light fixtures will go. Dh is working on the electrical this weekend, so hopefully I will find what I need this week.

As soon as the ground thaws, we can start on the bump-outs that we are adding for a porch and laundry room. I really want both the laundry room and master bedroom and bath done by August at the latest, as we are excepting a baby at the end of August. I don't care if we don't have a kitchen backsplash by then, but I want my deep soaking tub done SOON! And the sooner that I don't have to haul laundry to and from the basement, the better!

WooHoo, I made one check on my list! I'm really cookin' with gas now! LOL.

I got mine done!! Cab sizes, etc. layout done Sunday night a day ahead of schedule and sent to the custom cab maker and Diamond rep Monday. Got a quote back from the custom guy already, but Diamond guy is swamped so that will be Monday. I'm on the wrong computer to post my drawing to show you, but I did it! And framing starts Monday morning!

Done. Made the call, on the way to a loan deal. Not too bad once I got started. Still a ton of paperwork to go though...

Progress...?

Pas moi, alas! But I still have, what, 11 more days on my first task (dig out the range so DH can determine if it can be fixed, or not.) Surely I can do that? I'm still trudging along, ever onward.

Okay- bear with me. Having technical difficulties but I should have my pictures of my project up by 4:00 ET. In true procrastinator fashion, I waited until the last minute, and so, my glue is still drying. Will be up shortly (hanging head in shame!)

Yeah!! I did it!!! I am posting pictures below. I really wanted roman shades to primarily use as a valance, as I like the wood blinds for the light diffusion. The third picture shows all three ways I can display the windows. Thanks everyone for cheering us on. Who's next??

I am not usually a fan of window treatments *at all*, but I love your shades, very clever use of the edge treatment to make the shades a design element in the room. Nicely done.

Calimama, where did you get your shades and can you remove them off the rod to wash? They're very nice!

I still need to find roman shades for my kitchen and can't find any I really like or any that are washable. Was going to make my own but I'm not too handy with the sewing machine.

The rest of my list includes:

Figuring out what the heck to do with a 35 inch space between the end of the counter and beginning of the living room.

Buy a new fridge

Install a range hood

Install stainless shelves above the counter next to the range
