Green couch & ????

I am stuck with a green stripe tone on tone couch that was great 12 years ago color wise(had burgandy etc... in there ) but now want to change the feel of the room to something warmer. The area rug has beiges-rusts in it & I am looking at a Soft Camel shade( med shade of a beige) of paint from Lowes. I am stuck as to the colors for throw pillows & have bought 4 sets already & nothing grabs me. Any quick ideas out there on how to deal with the color of the couches The carpet is pale beige-the room is a large rectangle into the dining area-pretty much a 28' X 14 ' rectangle. The dining room draes I love -a dark bronzy shade & there are 2 pics in a bronzey frame I am pleased with. I'm stuck & am now dreaming about this silly room !!

Sounds like the couch I have now and am getting ready to replace! lol. But the colors of the couch will be my accent colors, and a deep red is always pretty for a throw pillow.

I have a solid forest green chair and a half that I'm keeping, and I ordered two red toile throw pillows for it. Come Christmas I won't have to decorate. ;)

While burgundy looks dated, a different red might be perfect... how about a pretty coral?

I'm not sure how you will tie into the bronze-y dining room without finding a fabric for your pillows that contains all the colours of greens, beiges, bronze, and a lighter, brighrer color of coral or raspberry.

I meant to add the tables are warm cherry-etched glass topped with a curved leg -traditional I guess you'd say. The couches are a rolled arm-not large. If I could get rid of the furniture I would but cannot at this time & I hate the look of those slipcovers they sell. Am also stuck with the adjoining DR wall into the kitchen so will have to pull the paint color into there as well.

How about just getting a slipcover? That way you can use any colors you wish.

How about gold pillows? They will tie into the bronze even though they're brighter. If the material has some texture it would be even better to make it look more contemporary. Bue and white toile might also look great, even paired with the gold pillows. Short white fringe on the toile pillows would add more texture and interest also.

The option of a slipcover is a no go-I hate the look of the pre made ones & for the cost of custom it'd be easier to replace the furniture.

I would take a cushion from the sofa and head to a fabric store to pick out fabrics that go with sofa and make your own pillows. Buy the pillow forms and just cut two squares of fabric 2 inches bigger than form, so you will have 1 inch on each side for a hem. I started doing this years ago because pillows at stores were too expensive and not the right colors. Good luck!!

Go to something like rugsdirect.com and use any of the rug patterns as a color paletee for great inspiration. Not sure what shade of green you have but below gives an idea of what I'm talking about.

Thanks for all the replies. I am considering heading to a fabric store as I do feel that the options are much greater as to what I am looking for in throw pillows-color combos. It is amazing the price of throw pillows--kinda shell shocked as I've been shopping for them locally as well as online. To spend over $100.00 on 1 pillow is a bit much to me. I do hope I am able to resolve this before the weather gets warmer --this is my Almost Spring project!
