Tapazole to Methimazole

My cat is on .75 ml (twice a day) of Tapazole liquid for hyperthyroid. I'm thinking of switching to Methimazole tablets in order to save money. I would of course do this only with approval of my vet, but I want to know what the equivalent dose would be for the tablets. Tablets come in 10mg and 5mg size.

The methimazole liquid that you are currently using has been compounded for your cat. The strength at which it was compounded should be on the prescription label. If it is not, contact the vet or pharmacy that compounded it and ask. Once you know the strength of the liquid dose, you'll be able to calculate the equivalent dosage in pill form.
