I don't see any reason as to why you could not silicone it into place in the same way a traditional undermount sink would be.

It would depend largely on the amount of contact area that the self-rimming edge has. I would get my clamping set-up worked out in advance and then use the most liberal amount of silicone I could pump onto the edge of the sink.

The purpose of clamping is to hold the sink into position for at least 24 hours to allow the silicone to set without any disturbance but you must be careful to not overclamp the sink. You want to hold the sink in place but you don't want to squeeze all the silicone out of the joint.

Thanks alot for the info Castoff.
