He is as good as new. Spot was about six when he injured his ACL.The vet thought it was probably only a partial tear. He ordered the brace from Woundwear. The instructions to for the vet say to take x-rays to measure the bone length correctly. Our vet just measured the leg with a tape measure. He thought the x-ray would have been a waste of money. After he ordered the brace it took about 10 days to get here. We treated Spot with acupuncture, rest and some herbal pills (I can't remember what they were) while we waited for the brace. We continued the acupuncture for a couple more sessions after the brace was fitted. He wore the brace for about 6 weeks constantly and then we tapered it off. The brace also comes with 2 different strength support rods. We started out with the stiff one and then towards the end changed it to the more flexible one.
Spot was the first patient our vet tried the brace on and I can say we are happy that we did it.
