help! drain cleanout blocks kitchen Magic Corner

I have an annoying problem.

Our GC just began installing our kitchen cabinets, and I discovered that they're pulled 2.5" away from the wall, to enable the Hafele Magic Corner hardware to clear the clean-out fitting that comes about 4" out of the wall. (And once the plug's on, I doubt the hardware would clear even that)

We'd originally had 45" between that cabinet run and our island (with dishwasher opening into that space, close to the island's cooktop) the difference between 42.5" or 45" does matter.... and 40-41" would be really annoying in the main thoroughfare of a two-cook kitchen.

Is there still a way to shorten the fitting, so even the nut on the plug would fit within 2-3" of the wall? ...and the cabinets be against the wall as originally specified? (I figure that moving the cleanout is impractical)

Also, what does the code say about necessary clearances around the cleanout? We're in California. I'm not an inspector, but it sure seems like it would be hard to get to that space without dismantling the magic corner hardware.

I can post photos if I'm not being clear.

My DH's attitude is "can't do anything about it, so forget it", but I have my fingers crossed that someone here will have some good advice.
