A dirty question, poop

What do you do with cat poop? I have done both flushing and bagging. Bagging does stink after a couple days, although I don't keep bagged up inside, lol, it goes to trash. YUK, what a smell. I'm just curious as to what some of you have to say on this subject.

Thank you,

Carla

When the dogs don't get to it first, I dump mine in a litter locker (like a diaper jeenie for cats).

We flush it. Why would you bag it? Is there some reason not to flush it?

If you have septic system cat litter of any kind is a big no no. The litter can clog it up.

Right now, I bag the kitty poop in scented diaper bags and put it in a diaper pail. (I bought it from Amazon) This works awesome!
I tried the flushable litter, but my cat wouldn't cover up her poops after she went, so the smell was TERRIBLE!!! She always covers her poops when I use clumping or scoopable littler, but when I switch to flushable ones, no go!
    Hope this helps.

Like arbisi, we use a litter locker. It works astonishingly well at locking out odor, and it's easy to use.

We do have a septic tank and I do not want troubles there. Could someone provide a link to litter locker, or can I just google it?

I used to use arm & hammer's flushable litter but they quit making it. So now I bag and toss. What I do is sprinkle a little Arm and Hammer litter deoderizer (you can find it in pet section of any store) in the bag then toss in the trash. It helps the trash can not smell so bad.

Maybe I can look for some smaller than tall kitchen bags with odor guard.
    Thanks everyone.
Too bad cat poop doesn't work on fertilizing the garden soil.

I scoop first thing every morning, bag it up and take it to my outdoor garbage can,no problems. I have a twice a week garbage pickup.

We scoop twice a day, and put the scooped "stuff" into a plastic bag (newspaper sleeves or tore bags) and then take it down to the lined trash can in the garage. We have twice a week pick-up as well.

I have pick up once a week. I will have to find a solution. Everytime you open the big outside can you can smell cat poop.
Here I have a poop issue, lol. Love the kitty though.
Guess I could throw it in the neighbor's yard, lol. JK.
The neighbors cat attacked a squirrel in my yard last week. Murderous scene, the cat was 4 times larger than the squirrel.

If you include shredded paper(if you shred junk mail or financial documents) or sawdust in your dropping bucket, you can greatly reduce odors... the carbon in the paper or sawdust will offset the nitrogen in the poop, which helps keep it from getting too stinky. IF it smells add more paper.

My trach pickup is only once a week and the Arm & Hammer powder really does help! :-)

Thank you joepyeweed. I will try that and maybe Arm & Hammer too.
