That's great news.

I've used neosporin on my dog in the past with hot spots. It takes a few days to clear up and it does work.

I really recommend Gold Bond powder, as I suggested in your previous post. It not only dries the spot and heals it, but it also stops the horrible itch.

From my experience having tried both - the Gold Bond was much better.

That is interesting about Gold Bond powder. I can easily get that at just about any store. Did "hot spot boy" ever lick the area that you used the GB powder on? Is there something in the ingredients that I should be wary of?

My Wesley has a small hot spot in between his front legs on his chest. It isn't an area that he can reach because of the size of his chest and the angle the head would have to turn to reach it. I put hydrocortosone cream on it last night and it seems to be cooling down.

I don't believe any ointment should be ingested. Quinton used to lick off the hydrocortosone and neosporin which always made me nervous. I would put it on him only when I could supervise him.

Quinton will not lick the Gold Bond, another reason why I switched.

Off topic, but what kind of dog is your "hot Spot" boy Quinton. white paw, fluffy tail ... He's very handsome.

Quinton's mom was a short hair St. Bernard and daddy was a Black Lab. He's the love of my life.

just so you know neosporin as in most topical treatments should never be ingested. it is very common for dogs/cats to get a serious allergic reaction from doing so. If you use it make sure the dog can't get to the area it is being applied to.

That's an interesting mix. I just looked thru the rest of your photo's ... cracked up at the pictures of him sleeping upside down. 3 dogs and 2 cats?
