Currently we have natural maple hardwood through out our main floor.
I'm a little bit tired of it (it's been 10 years we are living in the house) and also it bacame yellowish here and there because of the sun.

We are thinking of redoing fllors and have to decide light or dark this time.

Dark floor looks richier and more sophisticated. At the same time I like the fact that with filght floor rooms look bigger, more open, there is more light in them in general.

Another consideration is that I just hate our natural wood stairs. They are ugly. They don't have any personality in comparison to dark stained stairs and the quality of wood isn't good, so they have dark spots here and there. So I have to do somethink about them.

PLEASE help me make up my mind! :)
