3 % Solar Shades - Enough for direct Glare?
Comments (8)If your budget can stretch a bit further then the true best option is an exterior mount with motorization. Forget the ugly continuous chain/cord pulls and the hassle of spring loaded (you can have the company make you a wand to reach the spring loaded). And, to address shades IN place's offering, anything lower than a 3% openess is so tight of a weave that it is impossible to see through. And, views were mentioned here. If some of the windows have views and some do not, still all the shades in the same room need to be the same openess. Exterior Shades you will love if done by a very reputable company and will also lower your power bills in the summer where interior shades are not near as helpful. :)...See MoreSolar Tube skylights
Comments (12)We are still doing remodel, so solutubes don't have their interior covers yet but so far LOVE them. They are in a large hall that has always been dark and now is not. We went with the model with the LED lights and the light at night is also wonderful. Everyone who has seen them so far has really liked them as well; contractor, electrician, inspector. I guess this is a fairly new model and no one had seen them yet....See Moresolar radiation
Comments (3)There are several of these houses built in Europe. There are versions in Germany and Holland. The design incorporates a centre pillar which everything rotates around. The mechanicals are mounted "underneath" the bottom level (ie...suspended from the ceiling). This level rotates with the rest of the house. This gets away from having to worry about twisted cables etc....See Morewindow coverings? Solar shades or Hunter Douglas Nantucket? Help!
Comments (9)It sounds to me that you only need the shade to help with sun protection. The rest of the time the sheers are all you need. If that is the case I would recommend using the Hunter Douglas designer screen or roller shades. I would also recommend that you look at the Hunter Douglas vertiglide. The stack back is minimal. It may be able to hide behind the sheer and not take up any glass. I will put some examples on my Houzz page for you you see....See Morebarco
