Kelly, I had my landscaper put a sealer on my patio, and even though I chose a matte finish, it's still slightly slippery when it's wet. It seemed to hold the dirt before, now it just blows away. I guess you trade in one for the other. If there are children, just tell them to be careful, and don't run either!

Thanks so much, patty cakes. Glad to hear your patio doesn't hold the dirt like it did before. Dupont has two Natural Sealers. Premium Penetrating Natural Look Sealer "...will not leave the surface slippery". Premium Waterproofing Natural Look Sealer "...will not leave the surface slippery; however, please use caution when surface is wet". Based on your response, I will try the 1st one on a small area and see how it is when wet. (BTW, I was thrilled with how my pavers cleaned up with the power washing. I hope a sealer can help keep them looking like this). Again, thanks!

New to GardenWeb... saw your questions and asked one of my hardscape imaging clients, Go Pavers, for an answer.

He writes...

Dupont pavers sealer is a new to the industry and we have actually been testing it right now. Penetrating sealer is the BEST way to use it.

We recommend:
Alliance Gator HYBRID water base/ penetrate sealer
Techniseal Color Boost water base / penetrate sealer

Before using the sealer we usually clean the pavers with special cleaner (HC)

Thank you so much. I Iooked at the Go Pavers website and alliancegator.com. Alliance Gator had a good FAQ section, and they said their natural sealer won't make the surface slippery. Also found out I will need to wait at least 30 days because I just had the polymeric sand redone on Saturday. I live in PA, and I will call them and hopefully there will be a dealer in my area. Appreciate your checking into this for me!
