Welcome to all those new names we are seeing. Not long ago I was a newbie myself and now feel like an oldtimer. I think they will all enjoy the mischief we get into.

Hello, I am new to this forum. Been lurking for a while. I normally hang out at the gardening forums, but decided to finally start quilting since my years of stashing fabric has about ran me out of my house! I have always loved to just look at different colors of fabric together and have said to myself, "one day I will start quilting." When I was a child, I used to help my great grandmother quilt, so I am not totally new to the craft, just belately new. :) I am working on a strip quilt for a friend's new baby and a quilt for my son who is majoring in Aerospace at MTSU. I plan to have each block contain a different airplane and hope to have it completed for his graduation. I love the tips and tricks contained here and the little 'classes' that you guys have posted. Keep them coming!

Hi! I started out on the kitchen forum (hence my user name). I've been quilting for about 14 years now, but haven't done a lot lately (due to my 2 little girls). I've been getting back into it now. It's nice to have somewhere to share your work and ask questions.

    Hello,

While some of you responded to my post about sewing machines, I thought I'd use this post to introduce myself. My name is Stella. I'm 24 years old and live in Virginia, though I grew up in San Diego (sigh--I miss in-n-out burger). I am brand new to quilting, as I started my first quilt back in December. So far, I've learned everything I know from some good quilting books, "Kay's Quilting Friends," and this forum. :-) I am making this quilt for my sister's baby, who should be arriving in late April. It's nice to meet everyone, and I look forward to learning a lot from you!

I just found this website and very excited. I have been quilting off and on for about 10 years. In the last two years I have really started getting back into it. I'm taking quilt classes and learning new things but see this as a way to learn more. I have lots of questions and hope yall can help me out.

Hello to all. I have been spending time in the Garden Forum for several years and just found the Quilting Forum. I know I will be stopping in to visit now that I found you and hope to participate in some of your activities.

Hi all--I joined today. I'm a collector of antique sewing machines who only used people-powered sewing machine. I haven't voluntarily used an electric machine in over 10 years. I've had a little business finishing pieced tops for other collectors who send them to me for quilting on a treadle sewing machine, but I'm phasing that out so that I can actually finish my own UFOs. I'm a 46 year old mother of seven, with only two at home now. I live in Wisconsin.
