if you're still watching this thread: The door jambs are kerfed to accept a (usually plastic) bullnose that's part of the drywall. I've done it on all of my
interior doors including pocket doors. I ordered the doors prehung with the jambs in clear pine kerfed for bullnose. The jambs are 3.5" to go into a 2x4 framed wall (4.5") as the bullnose takes .5" on @side.

Here's an even more radical example that my husband Bill Fry built, see the white door between the kitchen cabinets - all the way to the ceiling and no trim!

hi there, i am trying to remove the trims myself. i would like to know how should i achieve the above look. i hate the trims. any tips would be appreciated. i was thinking to remove the trim but dont know what should i do to fill the gap and prevent it from cracking while opening and closing the doors.
