We are preparing to repaint our gunite pool (1978 Polynesian Pool) with epoxy paint. Previous paint also epoxy.

So far we've scraped, pressure washed, and scraped some more. We still have to go over it again as there is still some flaking paint.

Once all loose paint has been removed, we will need to patch pitted areas. (Picture of an area that needs to be patched is attached to this post.) Some areas are small diameter pitting that is shallower than the picture. A few others are larger in diameter and about the same depth.

We'd very much appreciate input on what the best material is for doing this patching.

One product we've looked at is Perma Pool Patch. . Any thoughts?

Other products?

Thoughts on best approach to application also welcome.

Based on estimates we got, it would cost us $5000 to have the pool painted so we will have to do it ourselves.

Looking forward to any advice/suggestions. Thanks in advance.
