In the past I have called a boat dealer that can make fiberglass repairs and had them repair the steps. The last one I did I think ran me about 3 to 4 hundred dollars.

Fox pool is a sorry company & more interested in building new pools they only want big money.Ok to the problem I have the same problem , paid a guy $600.00 to repair the steps & the first time I stepped on them they cracked.I figured out the problem is there was no support under the stairs lack of dirt or sand to support the steps.I am still trying to figure out how to replace or repair that will be more more of a long lasting life.

I have same problem. Cracked top step. Previous owner had used a piece of some kind of heavy duty sealant tap used on RV's to make a band-aid repair that lasted several years.

I spoke to the original builder of the pool (built in late 80's). He says that Foxxx had a program years ago where they would cover the replacement of the steps for the original owner of the pool, but that doesn't help me now. They had to cut the concrete decking to the nearest joint on either side of the steps to replace them and the entire pool liner, then replace the concrete decking. That represents thousands of dollars. He says they (Foxxx) now have some kind of molded piece that can be bonded to the original step. I'm still trying to get more info on that.

Did you get any where with this. My top step has also cracked

I have a FOX inground vinyl pool. Top tread of stair unit has a crack. What type of foam can I use to support the stair unit and what type of epoxy can I use to repair the crack.

We had the same issue with the top step 15+ years ago. My solution was to drill a couple of holes in the tread and inject spray foam (2 canister system not spray cans) into the cavity under the step then I used 2 part urethane adhesive to seal the holes and cracks. It's not the prettiest repair but it's still holding water...

The pool just finished it's 30th swim season.
