Need Help Setting Up a Quickset Pool

Hello,

We bought this pool and wish we hadn't ...have had so much trouble setting it up.

We have started over 4 times already and looks like we're going to have to empty it and start over again.

Here are some pics:

Pretty rare to find one "Perfect". Don't sweat it but do add more water.

What is the issue with needing to dump and start over, exactly? We had one of these for years (and a frame pool before that), it's all a progression!

My main advice is to place it on a LEVEL, perfectly level if possible, surface. Without that you are sunk.

Honestly I don't see anything wrong via the photos. Though it does make me nostalgic, it also makes me so happy for my inground pool, can't quite see my teen and his buddies in that, but it did give us years of fun in the younger years. Good luck.

My neighbor sets one up every year. The first year he just used a sand base but after that he made a circular paver base to set the pool up on. Then in the winter he has a little patio with a couple of chairs on the spot.

We had to empty it several times b/c it wasn't level even though we thought we had leveled it. This last time, we added lots of sand and smoothed it out and even while the pool was filling, measured the water levels in 4 places and it was filling pretty evenly (within about a 1/2" difference). When it got closer to the top, we noticed one side was leaning a bit and worried me that it would collapse if the kids went in it. So started emptying it until someone told me to let the sun warm the water and the pool floor liner will expand and take out some of the wrinkles. She said let the kids swim in it but I'm just afraid of collapse. The 1st pic shows how the floor on one side looks off (where you see the dark blue is not the floor liner but part of the wall). The floor is the light blue area. The other side (3rd pic) is where you see the dark blue at the bottom is only a couple inches where in the first pic, it looks about 6" or more).

Oh and by the way, we just got rid of our old above-ground 12x24' POOL ... b/c the liner needed replacing and my husband didn't want to deal with it, so we decided to buy this small port. pool. LOL We are raising 3 of our grandkids and couldn't see the summer w/o a pool.

We recently bought and set up a pool very similar to yours. The ground underneath is not perfectly level,, maybe 1 or 1 1/2 inches, but this does not seem to cause any problems. Your pictures suggest your ground has a bigger slope than this. Also, the bottom of the pool appears to have wrinkles. Did you pull the wrinkles out when the pool had an inch or two of water? Maybe you can pull some out by grabbing a bottom corner, lifting a couple of feet, and pulling outward. Two people working together would probably help.

I really doubt the stability is affected very much, just looking at the pictures.

We just had to drain ours because of green scum. We did not use any clorine or salt. Can somebody please tell us the simplest way to prevent the algae? I will research, but any quick-start info would be appreciated. We would like to refill the pool today. The pool is 30"X8'.
