That method of sewing HSTs makes them very quickly, but be aware that the stretchy bias edge is on the outside rather than along the diagonal, as it usually is.

Sharon,that is "almost" the same, but after you get the hst's done you sew them together and then cut them apart...2and 1/8" from the center seam, making 4 cuts and rearrange the resulting pieces, making a wonderful new square. The name is probably a "disappearing" something.
I realize that this is impossible to understand but thought I'd give it a try.
This forum has been a real help so many times........just browsing through feels like a visit with friends. More so since meeting so many at the retreat! Now I can put faces on the posts. Thanks for the info, anyway!

Thank you, toolgranny (Linda?) I think I found the pattern under disappearing star.love the method, and the result.
As for us, we are doing better than I ever thought at this age. We are still heading north in May. (In the motor home). I must say that I visit here often, but post little.
