Pebbletech colors
Hi there......another pool with Pebbletech. It's nice to know that I am not the only person out there stressing on color. So, here it is, I'm liking the Majestic plum but not 100%! I enjoy style that is different but I am also liking Tropical breeze. Were are doing a beach entrance and landscape will be more tropical. I'm in the the Elk Grove, CA area. Too many Tahoe blues. Any suggestions! Or better yet pix.! Thanks in advance111

For tropical, I am partial to the Caribbean Blue we chose. It looks JUST like the water off the coast of the Virgin Islands where we got married, it is so beautiful!

I personally like the darker colors. I think they are more elegant and a lot of places the ocean is darker. We just returned from Hawaii where the water was gorgeous and it was very similar in color to my Emerald Bay. There is a perception that you can't see the bottom in darker colors and that is NOT the case. I saw many Midnight Blue and Black pools in person and you can see the screws on the drains in a 9 ft pool. Sandy Beach is also a beautiful color in person if you like light water. I went with Emerald Bay because everyone has Tahoe Blue and if they upgrade they get Midnight Blue or Black here. The Emerald Bay is gorgeous and the water is NOT green. It's a deep blue with a teal tint and the stones are beautiful.

Im having the final plaster done on my pool in about a week, I too deliberated over the color. First we were going with the jade, but after reading many posts, the feeling was the greenish colors can tend to look like the pool is "swampy", now from the pictures i like the green, but i was thinking about if i ever sell the home. Were going with the midnight blue pebbletec. The pool is a freeform pool with a natural look and wanted something that was on the darker side but you could still see the bottom. I got a chance to see a couple pools one with the tahoe blue and one with midnight blue. Both were real nice, tahoe is much lighter, and did not look blue to me, more sandy looking. I loved the midnight blue, darker but still can see through, refreshing looking. When its done I'll post.

diggerboyjunior- based on your description of what you like you would love the Emerald Bay. I loved both Midnight and emerald Bay and am so happy with my decision. I added the shells and the EB looks like the Midnight Blue just not as flat- a touch more vibrant but the two colors are soooo close!

justjules....i think we might have posted back and forth earlier, but just in case we didn't, use the link below to see our Majestic Plum pool. We love it, love that it's a little different, looks a bit like stonewashed denim in color. Whatever color you choose, try to see it in person because photos never really capture the colors accurately. If you live in Atlanta you can come see mine.
I've heard great things about Emerald Bay, Midnight Blue (though my PB said that's one of the hardest one to get a consistent finish with...), Turtle Bay PebbleSheen...be gutsy and go with something bold and different. I don't think people here usually regret going too bold, they usually regret playing things too safe with color choices.

Original Author18 years agoLove this website and thank you all for your thoughts and postings. Gina171 your the pool that makes me want the Majestic plum. My builder raised an eyebrow and even suggested that it appears purple and that I should see a pool in person. I don't see purple hues, only from the back side and what I do like is that it seems so multi-colored from the sideof the wall to the water! Still not sure so PLEASE ANYONE that might have pix. send them my way or any additional comments. It's nice to know that the darker colors will show water lines, which one pool designer did say. SO then there again I should go a bit lighter. Any thoughts on Carriabean or Tropical breeze all though TB is darker. I need HELP....PIX. COMMENTS or RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE!!!!!!

yep, my PB's eyes popped a bit when i said i was interested in that, they definitely assumed it would be purple water (though I don't know why....tahoe doesn't give you gray water, Sedona Red doesn't give orange-y water, white doesn't give you white water, it's just physics and light) but now that they've seen it they can't believe the color.
have you called pebbletec corporate to have them find you some pools in your area with that color? your PB has probably never done one, so he won't be much help.
jules, also post something to natural_one. he's a PB in Arizona and has done a few of these. Plus his Dad was a lifelong pool builder and guess what color he chose for his pool? Maj Plum. A PB wouldn't choose something bad for himself.
note to pebbletec: PBs need a little more education on how these colors really look, so get some more photos on the website and show them, tell them, explain it to them. they keep selling the same colors over and over again because they keep pointing customers in the same direction and raising an eyebrow when they choose something outside the narrow fold.

Great photos of the majestic plum. Yes pebbletec really does need better photos most of them look almost the same.
Another note for them would be maybe if they took the plum part off the name of the color. It doesnt seem to look in the least bit purple but the first thing you think of is plum = purple duh:)
What would be really great is to have a page on this site like the one that is just pool pix, only just great shots of the actual colors like Gina posted, when I get my pic up here I will try to start that thread! Unless someone beats me to it!

Original Author18 years agoHELP......still totally confused. I'm have ruled it down to either Tahoe oe Carribean. We have done a beach entrance pool with boulders in the waterfall and in clusters around the pool. SO with a beach theme I'm thinking C.Blue but my husband kinda likes the darker blue. I just keep thinking that when I've gone to the beach the sand in beige not gray and one will see the color in the beach area. Also was advised to go lighter because of water stains. So, if any of has more pix. of C.B. PLEASE post or any other suggestions as well!!!! THANKS....

If you are doing a beach entrance why don't you do that part in Sandy Beach and do the rest in the Maj. Plum or one of the other ones you are thinking about? That way you'll get the beige of the sand at the entrance and the color water you want in the rest of the pool.

Just be aware that if you use a separate color for the beach, while beautiful, it really does give the appearance of a smaller pool. Our next door neighbors have a beach entry (in Sandy Beach) and it really does make the pool look quite a bit smaller. That may or may not be a problem for you, but something to consider.

Will Emerald Bay look green? I would like a darker, tropical green. Please help. I have to make a decision right away. Our pool tile is natural onyx (beige) so that is quite neutral and will not add color to the water as a green tile might.
Any input, right away, would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks.

diggerboyjunior and monicamomofthree.....Do you guys have pictures you could post? I would LOVE to see these colors as this is exactly what I am considering doing.

O.K to be honest with you I would not do Majestic Plum on a beach entry. It will look so unnatural in a tropical landscape with all that pebbletech exposed in your beach entry. Look at the picture below and then imagine a purple hue on that entry. Now I have seen the water in a majestic plum pool and that is a really good looking water color!
Personally I would choose a color in the beach entry that could just possibly be real pebbles on a beach. The color in the beach entry below is sandy looking and the deep end has the blue/green I was looking for. There was no need to do TWO different pebbletech colors, which would have been way more expensive.
So here is the transition:

johnfatheroffour: don't tell anyone - it is the -----drum roll please---
Tahoe Blue
I know it is used a lot, but it's a winner for us.

We went with the Blue Granite Pebblesheen with the Shimmering Sea (crushed abalone shell) option. We couldn't be happier with the color and the texture:

We love the color:
