Fruit Salad totes

I made these three totes over the weekend using "Fruit Salad" batiks from Robert Kaufman. The fabric is so pretty.

This is a "Desk Deli" by Penny Sturgis. It has pockets inside for utensils, blue ice, etc. to bring your lunch to work, and a matching napkin pattern

This one a matching Boutique Mini Tote for my friend's daughter, it's about 6".

And finally a Lunch Lady tote (from a free pattern found online, see link). This is the easiest pattern and becoming one of my favorites.

They are beautiful & thanks for sharing the pics & the pattern. Did you use a stabalizer? I have a couple patterns calling for it & I have no clue which to buy. The stores have all different types. PL

I used Pellon Fusible Fleece on all of the bags which makes it sturdy enough to stand up on its own. I really like FF, you can quilt through it and it looks great and is easy to work with. I haven't tried many other stabilizers. --Amy

Janice, the bag wasn't too hard to make. I really like Penny Sturgis' Quilts Illustrated patterns, they are pretty easy to follow and once you've made one of her bags you get the idea and can make others or modify them to what you like. The Charm Party Tote was the first one I made and it was a good way to learn. -Amy
