pool build issues

I have a question for all you PBs out there. I am having a vinly in-ground pool built. The PB dug the hole too deep so is now going back and "propping" the frame up with what started out to be bricks, but has now been changed out to wood. When I questioned him about this when it was the bricks, he told me it wouldn't be an issue because it would be incased in concrete. I have not seen him since the wood has been put in place, but anticipate I will tomorrow. I am very uneasy with the wood and feel this will cause problems down the road with the integrity of the pool. Am I wrong???
