How long is the class? When I did a S&W class in 3 hours, I barely had time to cut anything. It was all spent hand basting the layers together.

It is a two day class we cut on Friday night and then have a full day on Saturday... Oh good idea I will look for a coupon. Think Hobby Lobby might have coupon also...

I have the 18x24 mat also. At home it comes in handy to put at the end of my big mat to cut longer fabric on.

I think Hobby Lobby has a 40% coupon on anything not on sale this week (I bought batting).

I bought an18x24 mat especially for Aunt NetÂs too. They are 30% off at JoannÂs right now, but I think you could do better. I bought it at 50% off. Just when I think I scored big there, it goes on sale again two weeks later. Go figure.

I have to correct myself. The mat I bought to travel with is 12x18. It may sound small, but I think it will work for me. IÂm doing my big cuts before I leave home.

I have an itty-bitty 6 x 18 mat. I do use it occassionally for trimming and squaring blocks, but for a stack and whack, I think an 18x24 might be more useful.
