Is your experience with the ipe good overall? We are thinking of doing a floating pool with ipe and are being discouraged by our landscaper and pool guy.

As of right now, we're not satisfied and will be asking our builder to replace it. Waiting to meet with the rep to see what they say. Will let you know.

We are still planning on building an Ipe deck around our pool this spring. I am getting negative feedback from the pool contractor though. I understand from them its very important to have good ventilation underneath. Any updates Cozypalmer?

Basically the supplier has been avoiding our builder. We think it's a product defect. Not so sure about the ventilation issue, but feel all sides should be treated before installation. We DO NOT recommend.

I've never had an issue with Ipe. It all depends on the installer. If you pay high price, demand perfection. Ventilation is important, but also the materials used for install. Sealing all sides helps expand and contract, but there's a reason that some of the world's largest boardwalks use Ipe, because it works!
