Grace and Kay, I got your blocks in the mail today and boy are they gorgeous...I cant wait to put them all together..thank you so much for the goodies with the lovely blocks...
If you dont hear from me for awhile, we will be up north camping for 5 days..Im taking some time off work to mellow out and recharge the batteries..my blood pressure has been up and I havent been feeling very well, trying to get used to the new meds... so John and I are taking a calming trip..see all of you when I get back...Judy

Donna, Im home and my back was getting better until I got home...Im back to work and suffering and no sewing for me right now..I am getting some lovely blocks in the mail and will sort out who Ive gotten from this weekend...Im in 2 swaps so I will figure out which ones to post on this thread...Im so pleased with everybodies blocks that I cant wait to put it together as my very own birthday quilt...Judy

Oh, Judy - I'm sorry to hear the back problems returned! Is it from stress at work, or do you have an injury? I've had some back spasms in the past so I know back pain is no fun. I hope you feel better soon!

Donna, Im not sure how I got this bad back all of a sudden...Ive been having trouble with my blood pressure and my doctor has been trying me on other meds..this last one made me very anxious and Im thinking I tensed up my back so much that maybe it messed it up...all I know is that it hasnt gotten better....Judy

I am so sorry to hear you back is not up to snuff that is the worst pain. I am also sorry but I am mailing your block tomorrow so it will not get there in time for you birthday :( But it will extend the fun of opening mail. :) I hope you get to feeling better real soon.

I didn't get to the fabric shop before going away and had nothing on hand - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it LOL But, I hope the wait will be worth it. I was pleased with the fabrics I found in the end.

this is getting to be a sad habit with me Donna, I need a lashing with something! I get the blocks done way ahead of time and then don't mail them! grr......

I got Islays block yesterday and the colors are perfect and it will fit in perfectly with all the others...and Islay the mug rug is adorable...can you share your pattern?..this would be perfect for making little stocking stuffer gifts this xmas...thank you so much for making this block for me...oh and I did chuckle at the hen card...it does remind me of the forum...lolol.....

I'm glad you're happy with the block.
I have to give credit to Dotty for the rug pattern. It's really quick to sew. Here's a copy of her instructions :
1. Cut five 5" squares of fabric.
2. Press four of the squares into triangles.
3. Lay the other square flat, right side facing up, this will be the back of the coaster.
4. Starting at any corner, lay one triangle on flat square, and match corner triangle to corner of square. Add next triangle slipping 1/2 triangle under first triangle, then add another triangle, sliding under preceeding triangle. Add the fourth triangle in same manner and check to make sure all triangles are in place, pin and stitch completely around 1/4". (laying the triangles on the square is like folding the top of an open box closed so you tuck the last corner under the first flap). Trim sewn edge slightly. clip off corners and turn through open center opening of triangles. Push out corners, then top stitch 1/4" around the coaster and it is completed. They are sinple, quick and nice to use at home or give away. If you need more info, don't hesitate to drop me a note. Dotty

Got Lisas block the other day and love it...she made a basket block which now I have a choice of putting it in my basket quilt or my victorian pastel quilt..love it Lisa...

Did I suddenly get dropped out of the group. I haven't sent mine yet. But I did work on it today. I should have it finished tomorrow. Was going to do it tonight, but decided I really need a glass of wine more. The boys had a rough day so I just want to hide. And since I am on my second glass I don't want to mess up your block.

Amy, lolol...I was getting all my swap blocks together and posting to each swap who owed yet and I think I got deleted when I reposted that I forgot to say you were the other one on the scrapmasters who I hadnt recived yet..I just sat there wondering how I was going to resend it and just didnt..lolol..do you understand this since I sure dont..lolol..dont worry since I think in that psot I said that yours would be out by the weekend hopefully...Im heading to the doctor on Thursday and maybe he can give me some drugs to get me over this back problem...its very hard to sew now...Judy

Donna, I went to the doctor awhile back and I have been putting it off until I got out of work for the summer..its been very painful and its been killing me that I cant do what I want to do....I cant be taking the muscle relaxers and try to work with children so I opted to use the heating pad at night and Advil during the day..its not been working very well and as of tomorrow I will hopefully get some answers...Ive got sewing and gardening to do and cant stand not doing it anymore...thanks for asking Donna...Judy

Amy, dont worry..Ive gone to the doctor for my back and hes put me on some muscle relaxers and pain meds until the xrays come back..so to sit at the machine right now isnt a good thing...Ive got the pattern ready and everything is cut, just cant sit and do it..we are a pair huh?..lol....Judy
