HELP!!! Kitchen backsplash

Yesterday I installed a backsplash in my kitchen using 2 different types of tile. Ceramic tile and a stone mosaic border was used. The stone mosaic border sticks out a little more than the ceramic tile which was fine up until I was just randomly putting the outlet faceplate on just to see how everything was looking. When the faceplate is on, it covers both the stone tile and the ceramic tile so part of the faceplate is flush up against the tile (stone) and part of it is not (ceramic).....Where the ceramic tile is, the faceplate is not flush by about 3 cm. I have been searching to see if anyone else has done this, is it ok?? Are there any recommendations?? I was planning to grout today but now I'm not sure I should. If you have this same situation and can post pictures, I would appreciate it!! Thank you.....
