What catalog is this? The stylist wasn't paying much attention: the natural colored shade has an obvious dent in it.

palimpsest - It's Ballard Designs. The shade comes in two sizes, so I wasn't sure if it was a different size or an angle thing. I put one of the shades from my bedroom on it to show what a smaller shade looks like.

Te base is PERFECT for your room...the lampshade is nice, but it seems like something different would be the best. Maybe a bit smaller, and slightly different shape. I love your table and chairs, very nice.

I am sooo enjoying seeing your room come together. And really, you are making great progress at breakneck speed (at least compared to my tortoise rate)

Now I know what you mean about if the shade is just different from what you are used to because that is how it is striking me. It's a lovely lamp, but to me I can't "embrace" it. I don't know but it seems a little short? Or maybe that is because there is nothing else on the walls or around it. I am curious what the consensus will be. It might be perfect, but something does seem a bit unperfect to me with it. Hope this helps.

So fun to watch the transformation! I love the lamp and the chairs! Are you planning on putting a rug under the dining table? You may have discussed this before and I missed it.

Your room looks lovely; however, I think you need a taller lamp on that table because the backs of your sofas are high and underwhelm the lamp.

I think the size of the shade is good, you have it next to two large couches and on a large table, so I think the proportion is good.

I think the shade is the right size but the overall height of the lamp/shade is too short. I would try elevating the lamp on a few stacked books. I think the lamp is lovely and could work nicely once it is a little higher.

I'm definitely planning on keeping the lamp...I just wasn't sure about the shade. I've been thinking about ordering the smaller one just to compare, but then I will have to pay to ship one back. I will try putting some books under it to see how it looks.

sheilaaus - The curtains are inexpensive curtains from BBB, but they look great in person...almost like Linen.

aktillery - I have a thing about rugs on top of carpet, so I wasn't planning on putting a rug under the table right now. I eventually want either hardwoods or travertine in this room, so I will buy a rug at that time.

Now that I've taken care of some of the bigger things in the room, I need to work on adding some decorative accents!

I like the smaller shade with the lamp... the big one makes it look kind of squat.

In my opinion, the lamp and the shade are too small. I like big lamps. It's pretty, but size matters to me.
