I've done one a long time ago - something about creating patterns with jelly rolls, I think - and I've recently signed up for a couple more on free motion quilting but I haven't done those yet. DH Jim and I enjoyed the ones on bread making and cheese making!

I will have to check in to them now that I am suppose to be retired. How ever I am not finding that extra time yet.. So I will be watching what you have to say on this subject.

A very experienced & long time quilter recently showed us a quilt she finished using the methods from the Craftsy class - instructor Jacquie Gering - Creative Quilting with your walking foot. She highly recommended this class and was very pleased with her results and the techniques she learned. It is NOT a free motion class.

The ladies in the group (Bee) all really like the Craftsy classes.

I may sign up even though I do not have a 'walking foot' but instead the IDT even feed foot on the Pfaffs I own.

I have looked at the classes several times, but I haven't tried any yet. I did take classes from Quilt University and I was pleased with all but one on free motion quilting. It was too much info crammed into one class, but I have to give the instructor credit as she answered so many questions individually and it was a large class. The prices seem to be reasonable!

Breadmaking, hmmmmmm, I have played with it, but my problem is I am the only one here to eat it lol!!!

I've never taken a class, but the one linked by Marsha on quilting with your walking foot looks really interesting. It's on sale too. I may have to invest in that.

I haven't taken any of their classes but many of them look interesting. I have downloaded some of their free patterns ... of course, they haven't been used yet, either!

Time .... just need more of it!

I did the free BOM class last year but it was for beginners. I enjoyed the BOM though.
I have taken a class with Jacquie Gering in person. She is a great teacher.

I like the one Marsha suggested and I am going to try that one. And like Marsha I have a Pfaff so will see how I can adapt her techniques to my machine.

I've taken one free class, a BOM that at the time was good for me to try. The second one I paid for, but at a sale price, was on FMQ a large quilt on a standard machine. I picked up a few pointers in this class that I'm still using today.
The one nice thing about the classes, once downloaded, you have them on your machine whenever you want!

I have taken a couple of the free ones on baking and am now in the process of doing the Beginning Serging class which I purchased. I like them. As V. said, once downloaded they are there anytime you want them and for as many times as you want them. They have pause and repeat buttons and questions from others with answers from the instructor as well as students. I will probably take more.

Just from watching the first session, I have picked up these hints.
1. Press and Starch your top before quilting. I Press but haven 't always starched. Will try that next.
2. Use painters tape as a marking tool. Will try that too.
3. Iron your batting before sandwiching. Again will try.
4. If using spray basting, press the finished sandwich before quilting. Another one to do.
5. Go slow! Even when doing straight line stitching. This one is a keeper hint. I tend to go too quickly and on my last top, I did drop my speed down and it did make a difference.
Her work is amazing and I won 't even try to copy but interesting to use a few of her techniques.
