Wonderful catalog

I've been meaning to mention this catalog, but keep forgetting. It has WONDERFUL fabrics, and what caught my interest today was a section on landscape fabrics, and I thought of those of you who are going to be doing this later ....it has a section on what they call building blocks...stone of several kinds, tree trunks, bricks, tile, fencing, etc...all would really 'jazz up' a landscape quilt. They also have fabrics of building materials, ideal for creating walks, walls, any sort of building - clapboard, brick, tile for roofs, etc....they're great. The catalog has WAY too much to go on about....suffice to say I think it has the nicest and broadest type of fabrics I've seen.

1-800-865-9458 you could probably call and get a catalog...this one is Autumn of 2007 *I even found my husband looking at it last night...he said "Isn't there something you'd want from this catalog?"

They have excellent customer service, and they also have a fabric search service. You can send them a swatch of something, and describe what you are looking for. I sent them a turkey red that was just the right color, but the fabric was too heavy for applique. They found just the right fabric for me.
I would love to visit their shop someday!

I've used them for years. They also have a wonderful web site.

Here is a link that might be useful: Keepsake web site

If you do get the chance to visit, bluebars, plan on a whole day at the store. I have to stop and wait a minute to catch my breath every time I walk in the door. They are 'local' for me and the ladies that work there are simply the best! There is way more in the store than in the catalog or on the website, and all arranged by color. It's just beautiful. Drat, I think I have to go shopping!

I get their catalogs and newsletters and have been happy with everything that I have ordered from them. The only gripe I have about them is that you have to order a full yard of everything unless you buy their pre-selected bundles. There almost always seems to be at least one ugly print in every assortment. I have also bought some things only to find them less expensive elsewhere. That said, I would still love to spend a day there.

I agree. I have ordered from them for years and they are very good.

I love Keepsake Quilting but agree that they are a bit expensive but the convience and service out weigh that for me. It definately a must if you visit NH to go to the shop even if it is out of the way. It is fun to say the least especially for us fabrialics.

I also have been getting that catalog regularly for years - always seem to find a few things to order. Nice fabrics and notions, and prompt delivery, and nice customer service, too. Another one I look forward to getting in the mail, is Hancocks of Paducah - pages and pages of fabrics to just drool over!

I, too have used them for years. A few years ago we planned a trip there while on vacation. Poor husband and kids were just standing around for what must have seemed like to them, FOREVER! So much to look at! A must see!

Connecting Threads also has a great catalog - and a new fabric line. All fabric is $5.96 a yard, even when made into a kit or fat quarters. I just ordered a charm pack to check out the fabric. That was $4.50 for 29 5" x 5" squares. They also offer free shipping on online orders over $50 - and I always manage to qualify for that with thread and discounted patterns and books. I just received my first Keepsake catalog and placed an order using a $10 coupon code. Have to watch for those bargains!!

I just recently ordered a charm pack from Connecting Threads, plus 1 yard each of three of the fabrics in the charm pack, for borders, etc. and only got two of the fabrics - the green one I wanted was "discontinued"!! That was sure a surprise - that fabric was just introduced. Oh, well. The charm pack, and other two fabrics are now in a little quilt I'm working on. The fabric is very nice, BTW.

I, too, have been getting the Connecting Treads Cat. for a very long time but that last one was great. I am tempted to order one of the kits that they have. I have never seen pricing so good. I really think they do a marvelous job.

I had the opportunity to go to Keepsake Quilting this summer and I too had to catch my breath!!! I was in there 2 1/2 hours. I still don't think I saw everything in there. My hubby was a gem and waited in the motorhome!! He did come in at first and look at all the quilts they have on consignment there. They range from $500 to $3000. Now, in my opinion, I wouldn't have given $500 for the one that was $3000, but it is all in your own tastes...but the shop over all was completely awesome. They do have a landscape scrap bag with 16 quarter yards in it. It would be great for those doing the landscape quilts. I love all that were in mine I got when I was there.
A must if you are anywhere within 500 miles of the store!!!

So glad you had a good time in our fair state, Susie. The quilt consignment sales are a benefit of membership in Keeepsake's gold and silver clubs. The quilts are from all over, not just local.

Also, for anyone thinking about a trip to check them out, their annual in-store summer sale (usually the first weekend in June) is an amazing event! Lots of people, but not grabby at all, if you know what I mean, and great deals on great fabrics. And for those that enjoy other fiber arts, their sister stores (Needlearts and Patternworks) are right next door.

Thanks for posting about this. I just signed myself up for a free catalog from BOTH places. I'm excited to get them.
