Does this include all finish work involved plus painting? In other words when the contractor is done, the job looks as if it was original to the home. If that's the case, it sounds extremely reasonable to me.

No, this is just installation. We will re-texture inside ourselves. Outer door comes with its own trim. So no trimwork or painting involved there.

No decker, this is just installation only. The door we are having installed is a Jeld Wen. A very nice quality door.

It sounds like it would cost about $1200-1500. Not seeing the space and all.

That price sounds very high to me. I actually did something exactly like you want to do in my own house. It even sounds like the same door. I had brick on the outside, which would take alot longer than siding, if that's what you have. If he's good and has help, this should be done in 1 day. I sure wish I could make that per day.

It doesn't sound that bad to me...maybe not a bargain but NOT outrageous. I've had plumbers charge me in excess of $200 (maybe more) for ONE hour and on top of that an enormous amount for a part that I could probably buy for $5 to $10. If he is good he will be worth in IMO.
