No problems for me, but I have AdBlock Plus so have no annoying ads of any kind anywhere. It's one of, if not the best product I've seen for this issue.

I have Adblock Plus too, but still see ads on the right side and top & bottom. They're not in my face, so not annoying.

Just wanted to chime in with another ad blocking option-- Ad Muncher. No ads for me on GW at all.

We oldtimers used to pay Spike. Back in the day, one could only post on certain forums if one were a paying member. Then Spike sold GW and THS to the Ivillageidiots and we quit paying (Sweeby if you are still paying, someone owes you money!) Initially IVillage left the "no ads" bit up for those of us who had paid. My guess is that they've finally disabled whatever computer-thingy allowed the former paying members to NOT be plagued with ads.

I use adblock plus as well. I heartily recommend it! Natal--if you are still seeing ads you may need to update...either FF or ABP.

If you aren't allowed or cannot use ABP--I'd send a comment to IVillage and tell them about the problem. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on the "contact us" button. That should get your to a link that allows you to report a problem.

natal I was going to say the same thing - you need to tighten up your filters for Garden Web I see no ads at all. Click the Ad Block icon, then click on the ads you are seeing it will guide you to eliminate them

Dlm, I do that occasionally, but new ads eventually appear. It's not a big deal for me. If they were popups or marquee ads that would be different.

Actually, I should have been more specific in my complaints. It isn't really the ads, it's the links on the bottom of the page right below the reply box. If you scroll down, right below the 'Preview Message' button, there are some links to Ads by Google, to GardenWeb, or to other sites. It's not really that these links move, but more that the space at the top shrinks, thereby shortening the page and moving those links into the space formerly occupied by the Preview button.

Probably trash on my computer, sine it's slowed down a fair amount recently... I'll have to run my spyware software to see what's up.

I heard about adblock plus here and installed it and I see NO ads at all EVER!!! Not even what Sweeby describes. I don't have tv, so sometimes watch things on HULU and get an error message that it can't be played because I have ad blocking software, but if you just wait (it's the amount of time the ad is playing), it will play the show with no ads. Thank you all for turning me on to Adblock. I LOVE it!!!

Could just be the site acting up.
The other day I could not post a comment.
When I pushed to "preview comment"
it told me I must enter my user name and email address.
And of course there was now place to do that.
This site just "freaks" now and then.

Yes...I finally joined the Firefox/Adblock-Plus legions this past winter!!
Keep your ad-filters subscribed/updated too.
