Counting the days

Our real estate contract runs out on November 15 which is about 7 weeks off. We have been on the market since June 1.

Frankly we are both tired of showing the house and living temporarly. So we are counting the days until the contract runs out. We really don't think our house will sell due to this bad market.

Fortunately we don't have to sell, but would like to sell to move closely to help out with my wife's elderly parents. However, it is less than an hour's drive to their house so it is not a real hardship.

Everything that I am reading is that the housing market is not going to improve any time soon. So when the contract runs out, we are going to stop considering selling our house.

On the positive side, our house is large and confortable to live in. Also it is paid for which is nice. We have a very nice large yard and a nice neighborhood and city to live in.

But we put things away so the house would show better. So we aren't really living the way we would like. Also it is a nuisance to always keep it in show condition.

So the clock is ticking and the days are going by. We will be glad to get the house off the market and get back to living a normal life again.

So are you counting the days?
