Saskiasmom, we've done a bunch of the under mounted soapstone sinks. I really think it is a preference whether you like the look or not. M. Tex has an under mounted sink in Malibu Green on their website. If you look through their pictures you will see it. You may not be able to put a tilt tray in front of the sink as it will push the sink too far back into the cabinet, the sink an inch ¼ thick. You will want to keep the sink as far forward as you can so your back does not get tired when your at the sink. If not pulled all the way forward (and I mean all the way) they tend to sit too far back. Your contractor will have to also build a cradle to hold the sink (itÂs easy).

So to answer your question, yes it does look good, but it is personal preference. I know M. Tex has some great deals on their sinks, so it may be a very convincing choice. I know when we make sinks itÂs very competitive with the cost of other sinks (farmhouse), many times less expensive.

I'm planning on an undermount sink from M Tex (countertops, too) and when they priced it for me, it was the same price as some of the white farmhouse sinks I was considering. I was able to convince DH to get a farmhouse sink by selecting the soapstone one, which he likes more because it doesn't "stick out" so much.
