I had what was referred to as 1 & 3/4 Elkay sink. the 3/4 was about the size of 1/2 equal size but I never used a drainer. For the knives, wood cutting boards and rare pan that didn't fit in DW I just set in the sink to drain while I washed them and dried immediately. I loved having the two sides because I always had a clean side to wash fruit and veggies.

I have a 70/30 Pegasus sink with the disposer on the narrow side. I had ordered a 60/40, but when it didn't arrive on 'granite day' I had to run out and get a sink right away. That was the best accident I ever have had in the kitchen! I love my 70/30 (10" and 9" deep) and find it's more useful than previous singles or 50/50's I've had in the past.

They do make drainers, colanders, etc. for narrow sinks. I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's an elongated oval shape, and the sides telescope out to fit the depth of your sink. The rubber feet rest on the countertop at the front and at the back near the faucet.

Hmm, I think I'll get on the B, B abd B website (assuming they have one) and look at drainers. I admit to beig lazy sometimes and not always wanting to dry a pan right away. Thanks to both of you.
