Satin finish? I think I had tried that and it came too flat.

I've fallen in love with that finish. The shine of semi-gloss was always a tad too much for me. Using the 100% acrylic paint made all the difference as far as cleaning. I wipe anything off just as easily as I did with my old semi-gloss cabinets.

I love your cabinets and the color! We are going to paint ours too. They are currently 1980's pickled oak and the style looks very similar to yours. Did you take out the panel in the uppers and add glass? Looks great!

They already had the glass in them, but didn't look near as nice with their original finish. Painting was quite the chore, but I'm SO glad I did it. I did leave the inside of these as they were to bring out the brown and white dishes I display there. I painted the inside of the uppers the same as the doors, but lost steam by the time it came to the lower cabinets. Only the outside is painted.
Below is a link for the FKB and the inspiration for my color choice. She used a glaze on her cabinets, but you can still tell how soft the white is.
Pluckymama, the FKB allows you to look at several kitchens with painted cabinets, just look under the "FKB Category List" section. Scroll down to "Cabinets", then under color choose "White/Cream". I have to scroll down to actually see the entries, so don't be fooled by an almost blank page.

Did you paint your trim in BM Simply white throughout your house as well? It looks so crisp and clean. Love your wood counter too.
