Vanity Construction Question/Glitch

My vanity was delivered today. A local cabinet shop did it but DH will be staining it. I will have a granite top. There will be a 4in glass tile backsplash. This backsplash will be going around the entire bathroom as "chair rail". The way the vanity is delivered, the bottom of the two "stiles" (that attach to an arch) will be sitting on the granite top. This seems iffy to me. Seems like a water/wood issue since one of these stiles is right behind the sink. The wood will be stained and sealed and I'm sure silicone at the bottom. We could raised the entire arch assembly so that it sits on top of the glass tile backsplash but the stiles are deeper than the depth of the tile. Here are my two thoughts. Wrap the stiles with the glass tiles as to maintain the continuous flow of the backsplash/chair rail OR stop at the edge of the stile and pick up the run of glass tile on the other side of it. Maybe wrapping the stile with tiles would aid in waterproofing?? WWYD? The piece of wood under the stile is there as a temp support

Thanks,

Monica
