Burlap? Linen? Natural fabrics

Hi all!

I'm really into the texture of linen or burlap. Somewhat rough and in many different neutrals.

I'm wondering how one would deal with dry-rot. If you've ever had silk or natural fibers, you have probably experienced how the fabric pretty much disintegrates.

I'm here to ask if anyone has a good idea how to prevent that? Line them? Coat them in scotch guard? Just take pictures of them and hang the pictures?

Advice or ideas is appreciated! Thank you.

Good question, but I don't have experience with linen or burlap curtains/drapes. I guess if you have a lot of strong sun coming through the window, they would last longer if lined.

I was in some models of new homes being built in So. Calif. this past summer. Below, are several pictures I took of drapery that looked like burlap or linen.

Try posting this question on the GW Home Decorating site. Maybe there are some people there who have some good advice.

I would look for the sun-resistant lookalikes, or line them with UV-resistant fabrics.
