Need Contractor in Southern Connecticut

My kitchen remodel has been going backwards. We can't seem to hire a contractor for the job. They come, spend hours, talk,we like them and then NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. I always ask, if your not interested let me know so I"m not waiting. The ones we did get quotes from are ridiculous high or tell us after quoting, we can't get to the job until the fall. Any suggestions?

I'm willing to be the subcontractor. I need a new install of a window, demo of kitchen, small plumbing and small electrical.

He's not the cheapest guy in the block, but he shows up, he's very fussy and very neat about his work. He has a lot of experience, he's easy to work with, and he gets it done. He's done a lot of work for us and he redid kitchens for each of 2 GFs. He also has done a lot of work where he's cleaning up after the other guys have left leaving the homeowners in a real mess.

We have someone great, too. He's in White Plains, but close enough to Southern CT that I'm sure he'd do work there. I could describe him exactly how AnnieDeighnaugh described her contractor. You can email me from this site if you're interested and I'll give you his contact info.
