The link here is to a UK site called Alternate Windows, which includes instructions to all kinds of home dec projects. Some of the names they use to decribe the projects are a little different.

There are a number of good books about how to sew home dec items. The Singer series is usually pretty good. Rather than buy a book, find one you like at the library. They tend to have lots of photos to explain the techniques.
