Most fabric doesn't have a nap, i.e., a top or bottom. If you're unsure, as long as you run the pattern pieces in the same top-to-bottom direction you'll be fine.

Fabrics like corduroy and velour do have a nap, and you need to make sure you lay the pattern pieces all in the same direction. If I'm unsure if a fabric has a nap, I'll fold about a yard of fabric cut edge toward the middle and hold the folded fabric up and see if there are color differences. This way I'm looking at part of the fabric top-to-bottom and the other part of the fabric is bottom-to-top. If the color looks the same, there isn't any nap.

The flower heads should be up when you look at the length of fabric. For the layout, you use a with nap/one way design layout. Study your pattern guide for the layouts and other pertinent information before you start cutting.
