I would send an email or call some of the on-line places such as Nancys Notions or other establishments and give them the list of what you lost and why you need to know the replacement value. Otherwise you could google what you are looking for. For example, I googled seam roll, and found that is is $13 but out of stock at the sewingplace.com. Good luck, and I hope you remember everything.

I couldn't find a clapper, but I've seen it recommended to use a child's unpainted wooden block that fits comfortably in your hand.

I'm very sorry to learn of your loss. I know well how difficult it can be itemize all the task specific impliments you've acquired over the years. I just inventoried all my equipment for insurance purposes (I have well over 1K in presserfeet and binders alone; what you get for being an antique industrial sewing machine junkie).

Here's my suggestion. Do a search for Drapery/tailoring/alteration supplies. This will give you links to the supply houses dry cleaners/drapery workrooms/tailors use. You will likely be able to find all the more specialized tools that too often are not in stock at chains like JoAnn's. I have used Solo Slide, and also Banach's. I like their offering much more than Clothilde's, but honestly don't know if Banasch's is still in business.

I too am sorry about your loss.

Does you inventory require that you list the original purchase prices or the replacement price? I would think that if the insurance is going to replace all those things, they would give you the funds you will need to replace them at today's cost. I would not try to figure out what I paid for anything...even 10 years ago. That is almost too much to ask from someone who has sustained such as great loss.

Please take care of yourself since you are at a Very stressful time in your life. Not everyone goes through this experience and it is surely very traumatic. You need strength and energy to carry out these tasks. God bless you.

Hey THANKS for the headsup on Banasch's! It's been years since I ordered from their catalogue, but they always had a great supply of drapery supplies. I had no idea they sold fabric, too... do they have a retail location? I only knew them from their catalogue business.
