I had the same question this weekend as I was working on some small projects, and hitting up Michael's dollar sale for a few bases.
While I'm a total newbie at this, my friends & family haven't seen the onslaught of mosaic gifts yet, but they will this year- LOL! After that, depending on if the response to the gift looks genuine or "I hope the look on my face isn't saying the same thing I'm thinking about this horrendous gift," they'll be put on the 'permanent' mosaic list, or taken off.

I'm going to try my hand at eBay for some smaller items...and I have several ideas for garden projects (my mother & MIL both love gardens, so they'd be the only ones so far on the list to "appreciate" this stuff)

Then I have a lot of "surfaces" in my house that can use some spiffing up...that could take several years of projects, and a new craft room with at least 3 walls that need decorating, and a family room that'll need wall decorations, tables, etc...

I've toyed with the idea of a small garden shop at my house (ha! listen to me with only one 'ball' under my belt...what a joke!)
After that...um...I have no idea. Will stick around for more answers, but hope I've given you a few ideas!

Places my stuff has ended up:

+My home (backsplash, furniture, mirrors, flower pots)
+Gifts for family, friends and teachers (picture frames, flower pots, mirrors, wedding cakes)
+Exchanges (violin and uni-ball)

I have committed some items to my little boy's private school silent auction, and my mosaic lady friends keep bugging me to bring some stuff over to two local gift boutiques that sell artful objects and vintage fare (okay, those are the names of the stores, lol!) on commission. We'll see. I'm sure after their commission, a mosaic artist would be lucky to break even on materials and labor.

I don't have anywhere to go with my stuff either. They have been just going in a box and up in my attic . Someday I'l have room for them ( hopefully)

I'm starting to give away stuff, when I run out of friends and relatives... i'm just gonna hand stuff to complete strangers and beg them to take them... my house is really small

If all else fails, check with your local United Way (or similar) agency. They are always looking for things to auction for fundraising events or as premiums for donating at a certain monetary level.

Same goes for a non-profit agencies in your community that do work you admire.

Added bonus - you get to write the donation off on your taxes :-)

I sell mine at shows and give to family and friends as gifts. My chimes i put on esty , also have my own web page that i sell from.

What do they use for a basis for the tax w/o? Your own determination of value, or what the final "donation" (auction price) is?

So far a few were gifts. mostly for me. I'm keeping my eyes and ears open if a chrurch or school is having an auction.

Oh,and the swaps
